A Seventh Year Celebration of Art Along the Hudson
HOSTED BY New Paltz Third Saturdays at the Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz on April 29, 2010, from 5:30-7:30pm
9 Communities, 9 Celebrations
Beacon, Garrison/Cold Sping, Kingston, Newburgh, New Paltz, Peekskill, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, and Woodstock
On April 29, 2010, over 200 government officials, business and tourism leaders, educators, media representatives, principals from art organizations, artists and art enthusiasts gathered together at the Dorsky Museum to celebrate the vitality of the art scene in the Hudson Valley. This festive evening highlighted the calendar of events in each community for the upcoming AAH season including Studio Tours throughout the Hudson Valley. The new brochures were handed out and will be distributed throughout the communities and along the NYS Thruway
Many enjoyed Special Curators Tours of the Dorsky's current exhibitions and the juried art show featuring Hudson Valley artists with an awards for best of show. Representatives of the nine communities spoke about the arts in their areas and the importance of the arts in the Valley. The evening included excellent cuisine and spirits provided by New Paltz's finest establishments. This event was sponsored by AAH, New Paltz Third Saturdays, The Dorsky Museum, CRREO at SUNY New Paltz, Dutchess County Arts Council and Thirty-Six Main, New Paltz, NY.
