Mill Street Loft ARTS presents The Senior Project Exhibition 2012

an Exhibition of Student Work from the Art Institute of Mill Street Loft opening on Saturday, February 4th, 2012

The Art Institute at Mill Street Loft Arts, located in Poughkeepsie and Beacon, proudly announces the opening of this years' Senior Project Exhibition. This special exhibition will take place in Gallery 45, Mill Street Loft's exhibition space located at 45 Pershing Avenue in Poughkeepsie. Exhibition dates are Saturday, February 4th - Friday, March 16th. An opening reception for this inspiring show will be held at the gallery on Saturday, February 4th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.


The Senior project program is the Art Institute's most rigorous mentoring course designed to build strong scholarship portfolios. Students who complete the twelve week intensive course are granted the opportunity to showcase their work in this exhibition. The show will feature paintings, drawings, printmaking and mixed media works. The public is invited to celebrate these students amazing accomplishments and witness the difference 12 weeks of intensive study can make.

The Five young artists featured in this exhibition are Galeen McCartney of Newburgh High School, Jackie Pfleger of Arlington High School, Helen Sywalski of Monticello High School, Isaac Toonkel of Millbrook High School and Alexis Volpe of Arlington High School.

100 donated works of art will be raffled off. Proceeds will benefit Barrett Art Center's programs. Paintings, watercolors, prints, drawings, photographs, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media works by some of the area's favorite artists will be included in this exhibition/raffle.

We're selling only 100 tickets to this event, at $100 each, and early reservations are encouraged. A ticket entitles the holder to admission for two people, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and one work of art.
